Does a lot of proof turn a theory into a fact? Nothing turns a fact into a fact, but its "having happened." Nothing "happened" but God: "there is nothing that is completely settled." Only God truly exists, and no other Fact does! This is why, while I praise the article, I find inacceptable the writer's conclusion that "Religion is a about faith, science is about facts,” they’re both playing a language game, and playing it badly. The arguments fail catastrophically, imploding by their own circularity." The fact of the matter is: religion alone is about a fact accompli [the Name for God]! Science is no more than seeking "facts that cannot be found, lest God is found"! Once God is found, the scientist ends up recognizing that He alone is Fact Accompli, whereas all other "facts" are in perennial flux and change that obeys His Will! Thus, at best science is ancilla religiae! It is utterly false and improper to set both at an equal level.

"Ascribing the word "fact" to something shuts down creative thought". Bingo. The history of advancement can be traced out by plotting the geniuses who picked through standard assumptions and took nothing for granted. It's that last bit of abstraction that's beyond most of us.
